How does the Clear Aligner treatment work?

1. Consultation and the treatment plan

   During the consultation, we will discuss with you your case in detail to determine if you're a good candidate for Clear Aligner. We will take X-rays, pictures and impressions of your teeth, which will be used to create a digital 3-D image of them. From this digital analysis and 3D virtual treatment plan we will map out a precise treatment plan, including the exact movements of your teeth, and tell you the approximate length and cost of the treatment. Owing to the same technology, you will be able to see how your teeth will move with each stage of treatment.

2. Your first series of aligners

   Based on your individual treatment plan you will receive a series of 3 custom-made aligners for each jaw, which is created specifically for you. These aligners are made of smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that won't irritate your cheeks and gums.

   You will be wearing three aligners in each treatment step, consisting of different material thicknesses. During the first week, you will wear a thin aligner, guaranteeing your teeth can easily get used to the pressure exerted by the teeth correction. The next week you will wear a slightly thicker aligner, followed by a harder one in the last week. This procedure ensures correction of your teeth in a very smooth and careful way.

   For best results and a timely outcome, you should wear your aligners for 20 hours per day, throughout your entire treatment. Simply wear them throughout the day, and remove them when you eat or to brush and floss your teeth.

3. Your new series of aligners

   After approximately 3 weeks, we will take another impression and examine the development of your teeth position during the treatment. Based on the new situation, you receive to wear a new set of three aligners. This procedure is repeated until the desired result of your treatment has been achieved, which usually lasts from 6 to 15 months.

   The treatment process is very precise and may be corrected at any stage. Thanks to this, the treatment is very efficient. At every stage, you will be able to see how much closer you are to having the smile that reflects the real you.

4. Retention

   Having achieved the desired result, the key stage is to keep your teeth in their new position. Thus after treatment, you should wear a retention splint (retainer) according to the individually developed scheme. We also make a plan of follow-up visits, which usually take place every 6 months. The length of the retention period depends on the scale of the changes and the duration of the treatment.
