Prosthodontics or Dental Prosthetics allows our patients to enjoy a beautiful and healthy smile again. The main goal of prosthetic treatment is to regain functionality and improve aesthetics through the restoration of missing or damaged teeth. Your oral health and your confidence in your smile are just two of the reasons to decide for the treatment.
Modern treatment methods used at Dental Sense Clinic allow for aesthetically perfect reproduction of tooth shape and colour. CAD/CAM is a digital system that allows us to copy natural tooth anatomy and reproduce it in restorations with utmost precision. By combining this precision with high quality materials such as porcelain or zirconia we produce an excellent aesthetic effect for years to come.
What procedures do we offer at Dental Sense?
We help each of our patients to enjoy a fine, comfortable smile. At the same time, we understand how important it is to maintain the balance between functionality and aesthetics. Our treatment services in the field of prosthetics include:
Crowns can serve many functions: strengthening, restoring, or improving the appearance of damaged teeth. For example, a crown can preserve a weakened tooth from fracturing or replace a large dental filling when insufficient tooth is remaining. Crowns may also be used to hold a dental bridge in place, or to cover a dental implant or misshaped or severely discoloured teeth.
At our dental clinic in Gdansk, we offer all-ceramic (all-porcelain) crowns and porcelain bonded crowns. The biggest advantage of all-ceramic crowns is their superior aesthetics. The ceramic used for your crown can be matched to your natural tooth colour. When the procedure is complete, your new porcelain crown will look and feel like a natural tooth.
Dental Sense Clinic can provide you with quality dental bridges if you are missing one or more teeth. A dental bridge is used to bridge the gap created by a single missing tooth or multiple missing teeth. Using the surrounding teeth or implants for support, the dental bridge holds an artificial tooth in the gap. It is a fixed dental restoration, not a temporary, removable one. Once it has been fixed in place, it can only be removed by a dentist.
Our dental bridges are created to look as natural as possible. We use only the finest ceramic materials to create replacement fixtures that look like real teeth.
A bridge is one of two options to deal with the problem of a missing tooth. The alternative to having a bridge fitted is to have a dental implant fitted. A dental bridge is only an option if the supporting teeth on either side of the missing one have sufficient strength to be able to support the bridge.
Veneers are a restorative, minimal-invasive treatment option that can improve the shape, harmony and colour of your teeth. Cosmetic dental veneers are ultra-thin shells of enamel like porcelain that are handcrafted by highly qualified and talented technicians. They are generally placed on front of teeth that are severely discoloured, poorly shaped or slightly crooked. Porcelain veneers can mask the appearance of chipped or worn teeth. They also may be used to correct uneven spaces or a gap.
The porcelain material is durable and can last for many years, potentially decades, without needing to be replaced. The material also resists fading and staining.
Veneers are minimally-invasive. They require barely-visible tooth preparation. In some cases where there is no need for any preparation, we can use no-prep veneers, which require no tooth grinding.
Post crowns can be used to support the crown and make it more stable and secure where a tooth has been root filled. They eliminate the necessity to remove a tooth when there is only a small amount left of the tooth structure. A post crown is a combination of two parts: a post that extends down into the root canal of your tooth and a dental crown.
Posts can be prefabricated and fitted into the root of the tooth, or custom made, which means taking an impression that the laboratory can use to make a post that perfectly fits your individual tooth.
Partial and full dentures
Dentures are a great solution to replacing missing teeth and can do more than help you smile and speak with confidence. Missing teeth don’t only appear unsightly, but can also cause an irregular bite, gum disease, and remaining teeth to rotate or shift out of place. Modern dentures offer outstanding aesthetics and function, and they aren't the same as the dentures of decades past.
Dentures belong to removable tooth restorations. Complete dentures are used when all teeth needing replacing on your upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. Partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain, and fit in amongst and around those remaining teeth.
Today's advanced dentistry techniques provide more attractive, functional and effective restorations than ever before. By incorporating implant dentistry, such as All-on-4 dental implants, into your denture restoration, our dentists can provide you with a denture that performs optimally and looks great as well.
At Dental Sense Clinic we combine computer designed and manufacturing techniques with using modern biocompatable materials. This allows us to provide our patients with removable partial denture frameworks made of PEEK material. Advantages of this modern metal-free denture include:
